Tommy talks about being at the Northern Ireland DEEP gathering

Rachel: So I’m with Tommy and we’re in Belfast at the Dementia Northern Ireland DEEP gathering and how’s it going for you Tommy?

Tommy: It’s going fantastic; it’s fantastic to meet a group of like minded people who’ve got the same problems with transport as we do.

You know problems that we’ve identified over the years and problems that we can work on together take to the bus companies, the train companies, the airports and that, and come with solutions for them, how they can actually help the people. We don’t want to give them problems, we want to give them answers so that they don’t have to go away and work out the answer for us.

If they work with us, we will give them the answers and we will help them overcome the problems and then it will make it better for us, make better for our carers, make it better for their staff and make it better for the economy because we’ll get out and spend money.

Rachel: And what do you think about the Irish spirit that’s been embraced this morning?

Tommy: It’s very uplifting because this is the passion we need. DEEP shows that we can’t work in silos anymore, we’ve got to work together. Working together we can break down the Berlin wall.

Rachel: Ha, ha or the Belfast wall
