Stephen reflects on a really enjoyable Dementia Diarists ZOOM meeting.
Stephen: Yeah, it was a really good meeting this morning on the Dementia Diaries, really thoroughly enjoyed it. I love there just listening to everybody, what people are saying and their experiences and that, yeah it’s really good. Yeah talking about driving licenses and whatnot, and yeah it’s a pretty good subject to be on actually, cos’ like I said I had the same things as I said this morning. Mine, I had mine revoked right away because of my diagnosis and condition but there you go.
Actually it was probably a good thing because, cos’ of my balance issues, and er same problem as George was saying, balance problems and what not and yeah it was a good thing to, yeah it was a good thing to get out and yes I do miss it. I do miss getting out and about with my bike or car, whichever I had and yeah I do. It’s, it’s a big wrench in a way, having your vehicle taken away, knowing you can’t drive anymore. It throws a big spanner in the works but you know, yeah. It’s just you know.
Yeah but I’m like I say I’m looking forward to tomorrow as well. Got the watercolour session, first-first session tomorrow morning with Frances and I can’t remember who else. She’s gonna show us how to do watercolours and yeah, I’m looking forward to that, should be good. Never done it before, never attempted it before so it’s something. I like to have a go at anything once. You know, you’ve got to have a go at it to experience it and that’s, that’s the whole thing, you’ve got to do it to experience it. That’s the whole thing, but yeah should be good.
