Clive sticks up for his rights and gets it sorted. Good work !
Hello, this is Clive Rogers.
An update from my other day about the debacle getting my Blue Badge renewed. Having been told firstly that I’d entered it wrong, they re-entered it, I got another letter back saying I was refused, then I – my wife talked to one of the assistants, who told her that the law hadn’t been changed, that people with Dementia didn’t get a Blue Badge. Finally, to speaking with the guy that actually ran it, ran the Blue Badge department in Shropshire Council, he was eventually very helpful and phoned us up this morning. He actually put the – our application on the system himself, went through everything, we took photographs of the documentation he wanted and he’s come back to me saying Blue Badge will be out with me in seven days’ time.
I’ve said to him, surely there must be better training for the people that are answering the phones for this. Getting people all stressed up and not giving the right information that – I was getting the – told I couldn’t have a Blue Badge because they weren’t asking the right information and we weren’t providing the right bits of information they required and it’s been so stressful, I’d got to the point I could not – I was stammering that much I could not talk. My wife had to take the phone and she had to deal with it all, it’s – there’s got to be a better way than this for getting things done. It’s the same – they told us at one point that I should get my PIP re-evaluated. Well, when Barbara phoned the DWP, they said they won’t review just one part of it, they’d have to review the whole thing and knowing the nightmare we went through to get the PIP in the first place, she’s not willing to start and go down that road.
But at least it’s come out as it should and I’ve got my Blue Badge coming within the next seven days, so – thanks for that and that’s the end of my rant for today.
Thank you,
Bye.
