James has been discharged by his psychiatrist – but he’s not happy

I’ve had a curious incident recently. After Covid, my GP’s resigned and (inaudible) nobody’s told me what doctor I’m under now and so I for the past couple of years I don’t know who my doctor is. Never met them.

And a way back quite when I was under age to have dementia I was under an old age psychiatrist because there weren’t any young ones.

So I was seeing one yearly, it was usually a different one. I never see the same person twice, so yesterday, I’ve been seeing them once a year.
So yesterday I went and again it was a woman I’d never met before.
She asked questions she took notes on a scrap of paper, I don’t know why she didn’t write directly into a book or something… A scrap of paper can get lost.

Anyway, she said at the end, you know, “I’m discharging you, don’t need to see you anymore” and I thought, I’ve got a deteriorating illness. How can I be discharged?
And not need to be seen again?

(Inaudible)some psychiatrists are.. I’ve met some really good ones and they might suddenly need to be seen by a psychiatrist themselves.

I’ve only complained medically once, it was about a psychiatrist some years ago. I believe he had the wrong case paper in front of him and he was very arrogant and didn’t speak to me, he spoke to my wife and the first time in my life I wrote to the health place and told them I never want to see him again. Never. He was just so bad.
