Dory reads two poems by Donna Ashworth
Hi Dory here,
I borrowed a book from a friend, it’s by Donna Ashworth
and it’s called:
To The Women, and I’d like to read a couple of poems:
Warrior:
You didn’t ask to become a Warrior, nonetheless here you are.
Half human, half star.
You are healing by feeding, by allowing yourself to go there.
To the times that left you naked and bare.
And you hold that girl … so scared, let her know there is a long way to go, but you are not walking alone.
This floor you crashed on, has become your throne.
And using all you have ever ever known,
you have grown into the version of She
the world had no idea, you could ever be.
You did not be ask to become a Warrior, but a Warrior you have become.
A soldier of the Sun and your weapon of choice is to forgive everyone.
Backstage Tour:
Getting older is like being given a ‘backstage tour’ without the lights, the sets, the music.
Suddenly, you see the whole production for what it is …the show.
You catch a glimpse of the star without make up, getting ready to go home and you realise she is not the superhuman entity you thought her to be.
She’s just a person, like you, like we all are.
Getting older is like being given a manual on life
Decades too late … or perhaps, right on time.
Suddenly, it all makes sense and you no-longer focus or pay attention to the wrong things … the false idols.
Getting older is being given the gift of time.
Even though time is running out, you value it so much more, so that every minute is worth 100.
Getting older is a privilege, denied to many.
Grab it with both hands and breathe it in.
OK, Thank-you.
