We people living with dementia will challenge, we will disprupt!

Hi it’s George I’m reporting back on a meeting I attended last week. It was with nurses who provide support for people living with dementia. The group was set up to critique the services . There were 3 of us living with dementia and 7 nurses . We split up at several stages to discussions. What became obvious was we were disrupters we challenged things. It is brave of dementia UK to hold groups like these. I and other people living with dementia don’t start in the same page that others want us to. It was fine it all went well. To go to meetings as someone living with dementia all I want to do is say what matters to me. Rather than them asking me to comment on the services they provide.
It is interesting and I’m beginning to realise that me and others are going to promote change by disrupting. They the might start to ask us what we want. Thank you
