Charles from Up and Go talks about the return of his childhood stutter with dementia
Hello, I was in further education for 20 to 30 years and when dementia struck, I thought I was good at my job I was good at my job and try to get the numbers back. Yes I’ve not got a lot to live for.
As a child I had a stutter, a stammer and when I went to University everything was fine. The stutter came back soon after dementia. I’ve spoken to several people in the upmarket world of further and higher education and none of them can provide a satisfactory answer. It was cruel, wasn’t it? Having finally got rid of the stammer from childhood, dementia made it come back. As I said, if you know of anything, I’d be interested. Everybody I meet is terribly kind and understanding. But it’s a strange world. Goodbye it’s been fun. [Applause].
