Howard on the BBC Panorama programme Crisis in Care
Hello from Sheffield
Wednesday evenings Panorama Programme “Crisis in Care” was a shocking indictment on Social Care in the UK, the raw cruelty of Government Policy laid bare, the shame of a Government unwilling to care for its most vulnerable and a generation of Politicians so out of touch with reality.
Those taking part in the programme, showed the day to day reality of life reliant on Social Care, the Council whose budget has been cut by up to two thirds and the decision making process of Social Workers bound by their budget, struggling to meet the unmet needs of the people they represent.
Yet there seems to be a a magical pot of around £38bn which would be available if we leave the EU with a deal and one of the things Politicians say it could be spent on is tax cuts.
We seem to have a generation of Politicians who do not understand the realities of living with Poverty and Disability, who do not understand the unmet needs of people in this country.
All for now, bye
