James realises how dependent he has become on electricity.

Good afternoon, this is James, thanking you for doing the job you’re doing.

I suppose everybody knows about the hacking of the pipeline and loss of fuel in America. I was thinking today, just how dependent I am on electricity. Since the lockdown, we haven’t been able to go to shops, so I haven’t bought anything out of a shop. But, I was just thinking, since then I’ve got a desk computer, a laptop, an iPad, a small CD/DVD player, a small reel-to-reel, you know the wee reel-to-reel cassettes, miniature microphones for recording, handheld voice recorder, and today I got an Alexa. And I thought: oh dear! I’m using an awful lot of electricity now.
