Dory reflects on DEEP 10th Anniversary celebrations in 2022 – ‘A memory I will never forget”

Hi, this is Dory, and I’ve been sitting here on a quiet Sunday afternoon, and I was just remembering the 10th anniversary celebration we had in Wales of the DEEP network. And there was–it was the 10th anniversary of DEEP, and there was celebrations of DEEP groups all over the country.

I was part of the one in Wales with the Likeminded group that I’m part of, and there was DEEP groups from Scotland, Northern Ireland, and all different parts of Wales. And it was a fantastic sort of bonding, in a way, time–couple of days–to hear what other DEEP groups were doing and what they were achieving, and we all shared in our achievements.

And just to make real good friends in person, we’ve made friends through Zooms and–but to actually meet in person all the different groups–it was, it was very special. And I think it, well, to me and I know to others, it–the DEEP network, the facilitators of the network, it showed, really, how they appreciate all of us for whether we do–for whatever our achievements. It was really nice to–it made me feel part of a bigger thing, that it’s not just one small group. We’re part of a bigger thing, and it shows how it works to have that, you know, to be going for ten years.

It just shows the success and the importance of what people with that scaffolding can make that difference and be appreciated by the network. So thank you, DEEP. I’ll never forget that time.
