“Everyone agreed about the idea to have a fashion show”
-by Regina Shaw
Hi, it’s Gina from Liverpool. Just to say that I’ve been to a meeting in London with the Alzheimer’s Society to discuss the Prime Minister’s goals for dementia. It’ll be interesting to see what actually results from our meeting but at least you know, it’s showing willing and we might have a new Prime Minister soon.
Anyway the other item of interest possibly to you is that we had a SURF meeting yesterday where everyone agreed about the idea to have a fashion show, with us, people who are in SURF and maybe some other older people who will be doing the modelling. It’s an idea I had a long time ago and it’s just come to fruition really, that it’s been agreed that we will go forward with that.
There’s some sad news yesterday, one of our members has deteriorated quite considerable and he’s quite poorly and he’s been round ever since I’ve been in the group. It’s very sad but we’re trying to support his wife and hopefully we can do some good but it is very sad.
The other item of news really is that we had a meeting with people at the FACT, which is an organisation in Liverpool that run independent cinema. I think the FACT have cinema’s dotted around the country but the one in Liverpool is definitely showing an interest in collaborating with us in the arts. And they were also very intrigued about the fashion show, I think they’re going to come along with us helping to organise that to publicise it etc. So some sad news but some good news and I’ll keep you updated on how all of those go. Thanks, bye.
