Larry reads a new poem ‘until it’s not’
Hello, this is Larry Gardener, and I’ve written a short poem, which I thought I’d read:
When the dark storms cloud over the mind,
I will try to be kind.
When the fog clouds over the brain,
Let me take the strain.
When you can’t see rainbows in the sky,
Let me take you high.
When the rain comes day after day,
Let me take you away.
When it’s cold, and bleak, and drear,
Let me hold you near.
When everything looks like it’s a great big muddle,
Perhaps we could just have a cuddle.
When the pain is sharp, stabbing, hot,
Let me love you until it’s not.
And … um …. I think the poem needs a name, and I think the name for this poem can be “Until it’s Not”.
Um, what’s going on….. well….. I had somebody work with me as a personal assistant from September in 2014, and she’s just left and gone. And….um…. the good news is, she came from Hungary, and the good news is that somebody has expressed interest in working with me, and helping me, and she comes from Bulgaria. So… I don’t know whether it’ll happen…. we need to meet and have a conversation…. we’ve just written to each other. So things have been going not so very well, but they might start going a little bit better, and I couldn’t really have recorded the dementia diaries when there was no hope, and when I was feeling hopeless. Ah, but now that things are looking just a little tiny bit more positive, all of a sudden my mind started to fill up with poems again, which always makes me happy. I think this is the only place I ever put my poems, but just to have them is nice.
That’s me……. bye bye.
