Tracey has had a very busy and positive week

Oh, hello, it’s Tracey. I just thought I’d tell you about what happened last week, I was quite busy. I took part in some research on Monday, research and to talk about what makes a good death and she was very kind and se kept saying if it upsets me and she’d stop talking, it’s all recorded. And, actually, I’m quite matter of fact about things like that because as far as I’m concerned it’s the natural cycle of life: you’re born, you live and you die. That is black and white but that’s how I see it and I’ve no qualms about what happens when I die. I hope to leave, I have a living will that I hope will be adhered to. I have my funeral all planned and all paid for, my family don’t have to worry and that’s really important for me. We were talking for about an hour and I think most of the time , it’s not so much for the person that is dying, it is for the family that is left. You know they’re never going to want to let go of the person they’ve loved and that sort of thing. So it’s very good for me to talk about how I feel but also to listen. And then at the end of the week, which was a very bonusy thing, I spoke to a retirement social group, ages from 60 onwards, to about 90 years old. They were (a fabulous social group, they go on holiday all together, and have activities together so they are very active for their age and that. And then I gave a talk about my life with dementia and then they gave me a donation of £60 for Dementia UK which is fabulous because, actually, Dementia UK are the organisation for Admiral Nurses so that was a bonus as well, I wasn’t expecting that at all so it was a very positive week all in all. Anyway, that’s my news, have a great day, Bye now!
