Glenda is finding anger hard to cope with.
Hi, it’s Glenda here. Today I want to talk about feeling angry. I had a horrible day yesterday, it was okay in the morning, but I had to go to the Council Offices to renew my blue badge. We’d been there on Friday, we did everything we were supposed to do, except I needed to have a photo taken. So we did that over the weekend and then we took everything back, and my husband was with me, and he said, ‘Everything you need is in there.’
So off we went to the Council Offices. And who I saw outside but my daughter, because she works there. And she said “Oh come on Mum, I’ll come with you.” So my husband stayed in the car. Well, my daughter sat me down and left, she went somewhere else.
The woman said, “Oh no, you haven’t got this and you haven’t got that”. And I said that everything I need is in that envelope.
“No”, so she started again and she had this funny voice that, just made me angry.
So I got real angry. And then my daughter came back and she said the same thing. I knew I had my driver’s license but it wasn’t there. So I was just getting angrier and angrier and my daughter just went out and got my husband to come in.
And he said, “Yes, the driving license is there.” And “Oh, no it’s not, it must be at home.”
By this time my head was ready to explode. And we came home in a temper. I came home in a temper. Stepped outside the car, what was on the floor? My driver’s license. So back we went. And I was so angry I thought my head was going to burst.
Anyway she said, “Oh yes, it’s okay now everything’s here.” So she… I’m going to get my blue badge back.
But, The anger that was in me was horrendous. I’m not an angry person. I just couldn’t calm down from this. It was horrible. I was just, felt so, so angry and I’m not an angry person. So we came home. I took everything out of the cupboard. I thought “Oh, I’ll make a loaf”. So I made a loaf of bread. I beat the shit out of it, (oh, sorry for swearing) and, my anger, I sort of calmed down while I was doing that and my husband had a lovely beaten home-made loaf for his dinner but it did help me to calm down because of all the kneading and the hitting it.
So, that was my day yesterday but the feelings of anger, for me, is horrendous because I’m a calm person. But its really horrible when you get that angry and you can’t calm down. I just wanted to smash the woman and then I wanted to smack my husband for laughing at me. It was really horrible, until I made the bread, and I took my frustrations out on it. That’s all. I’ll speak to you soon. Bye.
