Agnes has found a way to attend Mass.
Good morning, everybody. This is Agnes calling, from Coatbridge.
It’s Sunday and I wanted to say – as everybody knows, I’ve been having respiratory issues well before this virus hit and I’ve had to be self-isolating, couldn’t get out, so, I’ve been kind of self-isolating – not kind of, I HAVE been self-isolating now for about seven weeks and then – and what my biggest miss, or one of my misses was not getting out to my Sunday Mass, because I went to Sunday Mass and through my – what is it? – my brother’s wife, Janet, in South Africa, she told me about a virtual Mass that was happening and I couldn’t get at the virtual Mass, but through Google I found another one so I’m just – I’m just delighted and at ten o’clock this morning from a local Mass, just the school I went to and the Chapel I attended when I was in High School, St Augustine’s in Coatbridge, I …. witnessed and saw and was in the virtual Mass at ten o’clock this morning and I have to thank Father Kane and all the people who made that possible, because it uplifted me and it made me feel really, really good, because that was something that I thought I would never have, be able to – because when you closed all Churches and Chapels, I thought “Oh dear! That’s it,” but it isn’t, because with technology, go and search and go online, you can get your Church services, you can get your Mass services out there, it’s just LOOK to find out.
So I’m feeling good and I hope everybody is being safe and secure and they just keeping washing their health – hands – and self-isolating. I think we’re winning this battle but it’s only because we’re working together and doing as we’re told and listening to what the professionals and the researchers are telling us to do.
It’s not easy. I’m using this time to reflect and to find out what’s important to me and – I think things will change, they’re certainly changing for me, Agnes.
But thank you, Father Kane from St Augustine’s in Coatbridge. Keep doing these virtual services. I appreciate it and I’m sure there’s thousands others as well.
