James describes his difficulties getting to see a doctor.
Good evening, this is James, thanking you again for the work that you constantly do. It must be appreciated by a lot of people.
I had been talking to various people today – well, more listening, because I had dental treatment and can’t speak properly. But what struck me is, the number of people who think they’ve lost all confidence in their doctor. Doctors seem to be doing their best to avoid to see patients. In some places you phone up for an appointment, they say it’s full, can I get one for tomorrow, no you have to phone in the morning. Phone back in the morning, it’s filled up by the time you get through. Same the next, you can go for days and just not get an appointment quickly. You have to phone in the morning when everybody’s phoning.
So, doctors are going to have to work hard to restore people’s confidence in them. Because when they phone, they’re seeing other people, not their actual doctor. So, I’m away in, take care.
