We need proper funding for the NHS. I want to do something. But i’m exhausted
Hi, it’s Melvyn here, um, quarter to seven of a night. I’ve just come back from taking Max out; it’s dark, a little bit chilly. Um, just thought I’d come on the old phone and um, I want to get a petition up for, um funding for the NHS. No more cuts, we need money in the NHS; cut executives’ pay, more nurses, more doctors. And no more cuts to cancer, no more cuts to mental health, no more cuts to heart bypasses and heart trouble and renal, babies, A & Es. We need, we need proper funding for the NHS.
And I am aiming this with everyone, young and old. And so, I’d like to um, take this a bit further but I can’t at the moment, I haven’t been able to do anything about it because I’ve been ill myself; I’ve got this bug that’s going about. It’s really knocked me for six and it’s laid me up. I’ve been able to do some cooking and that and do a bit of shopping and taking Max out but I’m just exhausted. Dementia makes you exhausted at the best of times, so um, and Alzheimer’s.
You’ve only got to have a knock you back and that’s it – it knocks you for six, so I’m sure other people with dementia will find this out, if they don’t know it already. And, um I haven’t been doing any exercises – no weights, no bike rides, no nothing this week. I’ve had a complete whitewash of um, I haven’t had the energy to do anything, apart from take my dog out and do some cooking and shopping.
I’ve just sat down all day, so um, I don’t know. I don’t know what, what… – I’ve been having hot lemon and honey (manuka honey) and er, um I’ve been having eucalyptus and breathing over it and steaming and I’ve been trying to do me best – to alleviate coughing and catarrh and that’s how it is. But it’s really knocked me for six so, anyway I’m going to leave it at that for the time being. I’m going to leave it. Bye
