Wayne reporting from a windy Garden of England on the coast- why are they staying in the car park?

Hiya diaryists I’m from Memorabillia from the wilds of Kent, although the bit of Kent that I’m normally in is still a more kind of town or city base but we do have plenty of countryside and that really is the reason for the call now. I’m down here on the seafront at um… here in Kent as part of my work with Sports England, on a disabled walk. It’s all about carers and people with all sorts of disabilities all getting together to enjoy a walk outside. So here we are in nice sunshine, not as hot as it has been over the summer, lovely sunshine. Lovely day down on the front at not quite at Deal I think the place is called Walmer actually, but it doesn’t feel that much warmer today but I think it’s called Walmer, but it’s a lovely seafront. Anyway we are supposed to be meeting here and this where I find the people of Kent really weird. I don’t know whether it’s because I’ve spent my life being brought up in cities and things but we’ve come all the way down here, there’s about 60 ish. We’re all gathered together and we’re meeting up in a car park, including the people that I’ve come with, and they’re standing around in the car park. Whereas I’ve walked 40 yards (I can still see them all) and I’m standing here on the edge of the beach with flowers and trees and pebbles and the sea and I don’t understand. The Garden of England, we’ve come to Kent and all they want to do is stand in a car park for 20 minutes waiting for start of the walk! Weird lot these non dementia people! Catch you soon.
