Dory is very proud of the confidence she now has to stand up and have a voice
Hello, I wanted to say as well about how blown away I was last week after Dementia UK Congress. I chaired um … open, not sure how you say this word, Plenary of the Congress and spoke and did the Dementia Diaries Live performance and … also was involved in other things during the conference. But I just, I feel very proud of myself, if that doesn’t sound like I’m blowing my own trumpet. So many people kept coming up to me later and saying ‘what a great opening it was’ and it wasn’t just me, I mean there was other people involved in it, there was Shirley, Madaleine, er oh dear, Jules, I can’t remember them all, but yes it wasn’t just me. But, I did feel so proud of myself because I’ve always felt very inferior, as many of you may know. So it really did boost my confidence. I do feel more confident, I think that’s down to um, people, the two Rachels and Philly, they give me so much confidence and I can see it growing, I think it’s only because of their belief in me, to, I can’t think of the words now, to give me the opportunity to do these things. And because I do feel very passionate about giving people with dementia a voice and the confidence to not hide away behind their doors, like a lot of us do tend to do because we think that’s it, there’s nothing left, so another … you can tell … the words have gone again, anyway I just wanted to say that so another big thanks, shout out to DEEP and … of Dementia and um all those involved in it for everything, thank you. Good bye.
