Agnes shares her short relaxation session
Hi everybody, this is Agnes calling from Coatbridge. I’ve been asked to share how I relax when I’m feeling sensory overload, when life gets that wee bit tough and you need to take time out. So I invite you to join me this morning.
So let’s begin by finding a comfortable position, ideally sitting with your back straight, shoulders down. Sit on the ground, relax with a gentle smile on your face. Imagine you’re sitting in a meadow. It’s very beautiful here. We have all the time in the world. Can you feel the grass on your feet and how the sun warms you? Relax, let go of all tension, just be here now.
Start to notice your breathing – take a deep breath in through your nose. Warm breath goes in, oxygenating your cells. Your cells smile, they thank you, and when you breathe out, expel all negative energies that you no longer need.
It’s okay to feel lighter, feel happier. Most of us take our breath for granted. Breathing is precious like you are, like life is. Let’s breathe like this for five breaths: in for a count of four, bringing a smile to our ?, out for a count of four, expelling all negative energies. Pause…for two…and as we sit here, there is nothing you have to do. Right now you are in the right place at the right time, and it’s perfectly okay to be here, to give yourself permission. Take this time out just to relax, just to feel your breathing and let go of everything else.
In for four, and out for four, noticing your breathing. See and feel how it fills you up with fresh energy as you breathe in, and how stressful energy is being washed out of you each time you breathe out. Breathe like this for a while.
…slow breathing in and out…
That’s all for now. You can at your own pace slowly return to where you were before you were before you took this five minute break. I wish you a great day.
