Keith Oliver begins a series of diary recordings about his new book ‘Dear Alzheimer’s’

This is Keith Oliver, today marks an important day in the trail of a new book that I’ve written called “Dear Alzheimer’s” which comes out 7 days today, exactly one week today.

Over the next few days, I would like to record a few diaries which give listeners a sense of what the book contains. Going to the back of the book for the blurb, the publisher wrote ‘using a unique diary format, this intimate and empowering memoir captures what everyday life with dementia is like, offering both a candid look at its struggles, and a profoundly moving account of Keith’s journey to live a full life afterwards.’

I’m really lucky to have 3 people who wrote the introduction to the book, one being Carey Mulligan, and the others being Professor Linda Clare and Rachael Litherland.

The book contains a diary format taken from 2010 to 2017, alongside which there a number of letters that I wrote to “Dear Alzheimer’s”, hence the title of the book “Dear Alzheimer’s”. Then at the end of the book there is a film script that I wrote, an interview with me and other points of different sorts of writing.

In subsequent dementia diaries I’ll do some readings. Sorry it’s a bit jumbled in what I said but that’s how things are at the moment, but I hope that will be of interest to listeners. Thank you.
