Christine introduces some of the members of the new DEEP member group

Hello, this is Chris Maddocks and it is Thursday 18th April, this is the second one, Dementia Diary that you’ve had from us today, because we didn’t really name the last one, here’s the next diary

Hi, it’s Chris Maddox here again, this is the second Dementia Diary we’ve done. It’s Thursday 18th April, and we are at our second DEEP meeting in Eastbourne consisting of five of us, its so homely, & cosy its lovely.

So, I’ve got some very special friends with me today, I have Jim and his wife Marilyn (both say hi), and Aimee & Ian as facilitators. We’re still working on finding a name and exactly what we want to do so we’ve just put our heads together again and we’ve had a lovely chat. We’ve got lots of ideas, lots of thoughts and venue wise I think we may be seeing [inaudible] for the time being and hopefully we have more people joining us next week because we know we can make a difference, we know we still have a lot to give and we’re still ourselves.

Jim- Very true, very true

Chris – Anything you want to say?

Jim – Not at this moment in time, but give me some time next week, perhaps I can do something then, when I’ve had more time to focus, get my head around the whole idea, I’m not used to speaking like this

Marilyn – Well, if I can just float in a little bit, I’m his wife, Marilyn, they are beautiful people, and Jim is just so, he’s just so talented, he can paint, he’s a joiner, he does metalwork, he does electric work. He’s just doing a big conversion, a big extension on his and he’s amazing. So hopefully you can see a pictures of his artwork next time, and then next time, maybe he can talk more about artwork and I might do some whittling, and I might try and get him to show you how to whittle a bit of wood. We’ve had a lovely time and will report back to you very soon. Thank you
