Agnes reflects on her purpose in life.
Good morning everybody, its Saturday, its Agnes from Coatbridge. Well its the end of Dementia Awareness week in Scotland and either the week before or two weeks before it we had Dementia Awareness in England. And yet today with the help of my support worker I will be looking at my diary preparing the next week ahead; next week of meetings, travelling and informing others of Dementia and answering their questions etc. Dementia Awareness week is a (unclear) for me and I believe for a lot of others who campaign as well. I think I will be travelling to Birmingham meeting other people living with dementia who are part of the Deep network This is Dementia Enquirers, this is research, brand new stuff happening – Brilliant! We share knowledge together and we support one another, and I have looked and learnt from my fellow campaigners and see that while we are doing all this we try to live the best life we can. We have the good days and the not so good days, just like everybody else. I think its my way of life now, in fact, I don’t think it, I know it. It’s been my way of life for the last 13 years since I was diagnosed, its my way of, I don’t know , my way of filling the days in and having a purpose in life. I feel so blessed to have all of you in my life and to have the DEEP network. I have learnt from you, you support me when I’m down and you celebrate with me the highs and the successes of my life. Thanks for being there. Onwards and upwards guys. Bye for now.
