Agnes has had a breakthrough with Alexa.

Good morning, everybody, it’s Agnes in Coatbridge, just calling to give you a bit of a laugh. I’ve been having issues with IT, as you know, and I managed to resolve my iPad, thanks to the lovely man in the iPad shop in xxx – not sure – who managed to help me fix it, although I’ve lost some of my data. But that doesn’t matter. I can get my emails and the basics, which is fantastic. And I think the third thing that happened with this was yesterday I plugged in and I was speaking to Alexa. I’ve had Alexa now – it’ll be a year in October, and all I can get her to do is tell me the weather. So I dutifully was asking her the weather report – nothing. She was totally dead. Nothing. And I thought, ‘Oh no, what is it with IT?’ So I plugged it in, switched it off, changed the location to another place, and still it was dead. So when my support worker came in to assist me that day – before she left, I said, ‘You know…’ and I was bemoaning my IT issue and telling her how much struggle it was, when she looked – ‘Oh I can’t understand that, Agnes; nothing can go wrong with Alexa, and who’s xxxx Agnes’ house.’ So she done everything I done and various things changed – you know, changed the plug, changed the plug location and various things like that. And then when she was shaking her head and said, ‘Well I give up, ‘ when I was about to pull the plug out to say, ‘Okay – that’s it. Me and Alexa just don’t get on.’ When I discovered that at the plug if you push a wee thing in. You can pull it out and in – I don’t know what it’s for, but any way you can. And I just happened to push it in and Alexa came to life. So there you go. Never give up! There’s always hope and a silver lining. Thanks for listening to me, and the weather today in Scotland is a bit overcast and about 15 or 16. Bye!
