Julie from YODA shares a very positive research experience

Hello, this is Julie from YODA. Recently I attended an event celebrating a project I’d taken part in. It was a joint piece of work between Bradford University and Health Education England. As part of their online study materials, myself and other members of the experts by experience group took part in a series of filmed interviews, giving the human aspect of dementia. Some of us who took part – who take part, are both those who live with a diagnosis, and those who act as care partners. It’s always good to work with the university, as they truly embrace working in partnership with people who have dementia. It’s embarrassing to see yourself on film, not just because you sound different but lovely to see the wide-ranging and balanced views of all who contributed. Before leaving, we were each given a copy of the whole of our individual film . Thanks to Clare Mason for arranging this.
