“Be grateful for what you have got” says Rae
Hi, this is Rae Burton checking in. I just wanted to talk about my new, well, PA useful carers. She’s more than a carer, she’s a cleaner, a washer upper. It’s funny, I’m sat today and I’m thinking she’s not cleaned that very well and I’ve still got dusty corners. If I was fit I’d bottom the place. She’s missing bits out and I was getting really so stressed about it. I thought, you know, don’t be so ungrateful. At least she’s doing… she’s doing, the bits you can see are clean, so I decided today that I would respect my dusty corners and I would respect the fact that no-one’s ever going to do it as well as I do my own. And.. I’m going to respect my PA / carer / whatever, because she’s doing a damn good job. I’m so much happier and she’s a very, she’s a lifelong dear friend as well, who’s worked as a carer for many years. We just sort of fell in together and its worked brilliantly so, yeah, respect the dust and be grateful for what you’ve got.
