Melvyn wonders what support there is during COVID for people who aren’t online?

Hello, it’s Melvyn here, something else I want to tell you about, it’s in the DEEP news, April-May 2020.

It’s about the Young Dementia UK paper leading the way with the HALT Charity. They talk about setting up a group together during lockdown and managed to get online, but what about the people in that group who can’t get online? Have they helped them try? Because, could be a little bit – you know – academic-y again – not allowing other people to get online who are not, who may not be able to be involved or be able to afford a computer. Be nice to get the whole group there instead of just a few.

“It’s so lovely to see our community come to life again through Zoom.”
That is, yeah that is fantastic.

“Staying connected is absolutely vital to remind ourselves what is important in life and to share our strength and compassion with those may need it right at the moment.”

Well, there’s loads of people with need it right at the moment, who can’t get onto their Zoom, who can’t get in contact with them. Please remember them. Be nice, wouldn’t it? And that group remember that as well, just to get other group members involved, get them online.

Thank you!
