Melvyn isn’t surprised by the new quarantine rules for those returning from Spain.

Hello, it’s Melvyn here.

I’ve been listening to the news nearly all night and about these people travelling back from Spain on holiday, quarantining for fourteen days.

So what?

If there’s a pandemic out there, there’s a chance they’ve got it, going to get it, bring it back into the country and then spread it all over in this country. Yeah? They say “Oh, people are going out, people are coming back” – there’ll be chaos – yeah, it is chaos. But that’s what Covid-19’s all about.

It causes chaos and if you’re going to go on holiday, you’ve got expect to be quarantined in, if that country’s got a pandemic somewhere so – I have – you say – choose your chances. If you’ve got enough money to go on holiday, you’ve got enough money to go in quarantine – that’s the way I look at it. So you’ve got to stay in this country – that’s the best bet, isn’t it? Stay at home. Spend your money in this country instead of spending it abroad – that’s what I say. The businessmen won’t like it. The aircraft – Flybe and all that, that went to the wall – them sort of ….. companies, but they have, so – what’s it all about?
