Joy is having problems getting a flu jab. Anyone else?

Joy: Hi, it’s Joy.

I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing any problems with getting a flu jab?

I sat outside a chemist in the pouring rain last week having been told I can get a free flu jab. The chemist asked if I’d had the jab previous years and in which category I was in.
I said I couldn’t remember. Her reply was ‘you’ll have to pay then.’
I pointed to the large poster on the wall. The poster clearly stating I was eligible because I was over fifty.
‘Ah’ she said. ‘That scheme doesn’t start until November.’

I then phoned my GP asking if I could have my flu jab at the same time as I was attending for a blood test, to save coming to the surgery twice.

‘Oh no Mrs Watson you have to wait for an invitation.’ Even though the one nurse does both procedures.

I’m beginning to believe when Covid came in, common sense went out.
