Melvyn reflects sadly on the impact of COVID. “nothing seems to make sense”
Hello, it’s Melvyn here.
I just wanted to say about my – what I wrote yesterday again – I’d like to say it again because I think it’s important. It’s called “Covid-19” – sometimes it rhymes, sometimes it doesn’t.
I cannot see my way ahead anymore. Nothing seems to make sense.
“A Pandemic”, they said. “Nothing to worry about.
We’ve got Track and Trace, world class”, they said.
I think they’re a disgrace. Why are there more people dying than before?
So many dying on their own – our fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters and more.
So many dying alone.
I wish I could be by their side, just to hold their hand.
Just to say, “I’m here for you, by your side, don’t worry.
Everything will be all right.”
Big words never come to me at such times like this –
But I’m simple, you see – nothing matters.
Freedom comes at death and nothing matters any more.
Why doesn’t anybody speak up for us?
Why does no one care when we are beaten in hospital in Kent?
If a politician in hospital in Kent got beaten,
I wonder what would happen?
I’m not inspired any more by lies and fibs –
My Mental Health team don’t say a word about our abuse.
So what’s the point? No care in the community – no care at all.
Paid into Social Care all my life – for what?
Just to be beaten and tied up.
No Human Rights, no equality, it seems.
Sent into Care Homes with Covid-19.
That’s what our Care Minister has done.
It feels like no one cares at all.
That’s why I cannot see my way ahead.
Nothing seems to make sense.
That’s something that I feel strongly about and ….. very strongly about and I’d like people to be able to listen to this and be able to read this, what I’ve read – because I think it’s important – I think it’s very important – that abuse of people with Dementia …. is rife …. and …. is wrong.
That’s it now, I’m going to say goodbye.
Thank you,
Bye.
