“It’s funny, we hardly talk about dementia, as it happens.”

-by Melvyn Brooks

“Hiya, it’s Melvyn here. It’s nice to talk to them (people at Forget Me Nots). It’s funny, we hardly talk about dementia, as it happens. When it does arise it’s either somebody who’s been visiting for speeches, or to talk. So I suppose those people out there who read this think that we talk about dementia all the time, but it’s not the case.

The only time I talk about dementia is when this government is gonna spend 178 trillion on defence. It’s absolutely horrendous. And the care for dementia, quarter-of-an-hour calls, five-minute calls, people that just go in to look at dementia people and just say ‘Are you alright?’ and then walk back out. I’m just so flabbergasted, and it’s horrendous. I’ve got to go now, gonna go out to do some, gonna go out to gym for an hour.”
