Keith Oliver reports on the sales of his fantastic book Walk the Walk Talk the Talk

Hello Keith Oliver, I’m going to do a recording about a book ‘Walk the Walk, Talk the Talk’, which I wrote in 2016 and was published, almost exactly a year ago, in November 2016.  The proceeds from the book go entirely to Innovations in Dementia and the Alzheimer’s Society.  Since being published the book has sold approximately 800 copies and has raised £1640 for innovations and £2110 for the AS.  In total it’s taken £4180.  The difference being the £430 it’s cost to publish the book and print the book.  I’m delighted with this because originally when I’d put the target of 1 year I’d put the target at £3000, so this has far exceeded my expectations.

Yesterday I took delivery of the ‘University of the third age’ quarterly magazine, and there was a nice little review of the book in that particular magazine.  The book can be bought from the Alzheimer’s Society online shop for the cost of £5, alternatively you can get it from any Waterstones for £8 that’s because Waterstones place a £3 charge on top for their profits.  But for every book £5 goes to those two good causes.  Thank you, goodbye.
