Agnes update and thank you for peer support

Hi Everyone, It’s Sunday evening and it’s Agnes from Scotland calling. I just wanted to thank everyone for the support and good wishes. You know peer support, the best medicine you can get.

I met up with my friend Nancy, she was down here from the Black Isle and off we went to Loch Lomond. It was very, very cold, but the scenery was gorgeous. Just what the doctor ordered, well that’s if I had ever got to see a GP. But peer support has helped me, I’m not feeling as down, my pain is under control with analgesia and I’m following some advice I’ve been given. I’m resting it when I can, I elevate it, I’m trying to exercise it as well as rest it so it’s a kind of balance, exercise, and elevate it when I’m sitting down and as long as I’ve got support around the ankle etc, I’m managing fine. I’ve got my stick so I’ve got that when I get tired and when I need it. And today Nancy was my support in more ways than one, emotionally and also when we were walking I could take her arm.

I just wanted to say a great big thank you, tomorrow’s Monday and I’ll try to phone the doctor again and go through the process, but I’m not as emotionally down, and it’s going to be I’ll either get to see the doctor or I don’t. Thanks everybody, bye.
