Jacqui feels so much loss and grief associated with her diagnosis
Hello Diary Jacqui here
At last I have an appointment on Friday with Healthy Minds , that is because when I was diagnosed in January there has been nobody to talk to about my feelings.
Everybody at the Memory clinic wants to tell me about how I can live well with Dementia but I have feelings too and I need to go through the process of grief.
I had to resign from work quickly with no goodbye, no going out , no goodbye cards.
I knew that I wasn’t up to working and I had to leave, I was forgetting things so I got a disciplinary then then another disciplinary because I had forgotten what I had done wrong.
Well I don’t think it is too much to ask just to have someone at the Memory Clinic who can talk to me about my feelings once I had been diagnosed and really it’s a right of passage into Dementia that I am looking for and in a way I suppose it is grief and loss and I can’t find anybody who will talk me through the feelings of loss and yes I know we are supposed to live well with Dementia going forward but I feel like I have skipped a bit and my feelings haven’t been acknowledged, so I do hope my appointment on Friday with Healthy Minds that the lady there will help my passage into Dementia because I have to wait 18 months to see my Cognitive Behavioural Therapist from the Chronic Fatigue Service who is amazing but she said in the meantime I have to have someone to talk to .
So this hopes they can help me .
Bye Bye Everyone
Bye Bye
