Jacqui is pleased about her day

Hello it’s Jacqui. I had a wonderful day yesterday with Dr Geraldine Gallagher, Dr G, in Belfast, in Newton Town Abbey. I went on her workshop I flew all the way from Manchester.
Right after I was diagnosed with young onset Alzheimer’s last January, I don’t know, why but I became scared of flying. So this has really helped me, I was a bit jittery in the plane to be honest but my friend said “It’ll be ok, you’ll be fine, take a deep breath count to 20”. (Sigh) so that was OK i did it!
Then we went down and caught the train to Newton Town Abbey, Dr G met me and I went to 2 of her workshops, oh I’ve learnt another new skill! Plus I mixed with Strangers and I chatted to them and I told them about young onset Alzheimers, told them about the research. then me and Dr G went for lunch at a beautiful hotel ‘The CORRS Hotel’, C O R R S and er she showed me her own paintings, she’s a portrait painter and she’s held huge exhibitions, and then she chatted to me about the reminiscence work that she does for people with dementia which was so interesting, so I had such a privileged day to be with such a dedicated and a beautiful lady. So now today I am going to go to the Museum and potter around and then we fly back to Manchester at about 2 o’clock, take care bye bye.
