“There is much more to life than dementia” says Shelagh
Hi it’s Shelagh
I’m sick of dementia. I’m sick of, not of campaigning; not of having it, I’ve accepted that I’ve got it; not of raising awareness because I’ll do that forever; but I’m sick of the way dementia seems to intrude into every part of my life.
I had 42 posts on my Facebook page yesterday from the same person all about dementia and almost the same number from another person.
When I’m an old lady sitting in the corner of a care home I won’t be talking about dementia or dementia campaigning as something that’s important to me. I’ll be either quoting Houseman about how the cherry blossom is there wearing white for Eastertide or I’ll be singing stick Man City up your bum cos we are Man United!
There’s MUCH more to life than dementia!
