Joy is building support for her work to raise awareness in schools.
Hi there! It’s the lady with purple hair back on the scene after a long time. The reason I’m just wanting to share today is that I’ve spent the most amazing afternoon. For those of you who don’t know, I’ve invented a little character called ‘Mr Alzheimer’s’ and he goes into schools and goes home with children. And we’re having a big launch with all the children, but I didn’t want to just involve the children; I wanted to involve anyone who felt they wanted to help me and just have some fun. So I went along to a group today, a group – varying stages of dementia. But, as I say, it was just amazing, because the guys there were so wanting to help, and wanting to be a part of what we were doing, and obviously they’ve got a connection with children anyway. It was just two hours of real – just me standing back and thinking, ‘Goodness.’ Even to the point where they were given lots of choices. I said, ‘Can you – you can put your name on the back,’ – ‘Oh yes, we want to know where it’s going,’ and all that, and then the choice of what colour pens, and choices of this, choices of that, I thought, ‘Oh. This is just so good. So I thought I’d share it with the rest of you. Cheers a lot. Bye!
