The ‘work’ of Dementia Diaries – part of our hearts joy

Hello, this is Shelagh.

While we were at Woodbrooke last week I found something in the library which I had actually read before, but it occurred to me that it was really applicable to Dementia Diaries and the people who do it. It’s a quotation and this is what it says, it’s about finding your work in the world and in a way Dementia Diaries are our work in the world it’s our work in raising the awareness about what it is like to live with dementia, and this is the quote:

“You should find your work at that place where your hearts joy and the worlds deep hunger meets”

I think that’s true for us Dementia Diaries is part of our hearts joy and the world has a deep hunger to understand and to be inspired by people who live with dementia.
