Jacqui is learning to take her time with her art.

Hello, it’s Jacqui, from Stockport near Manchester.
Before I was diagnosed with Young Onset Alzheimer’s, I was working as a funeral arranger. Everything had to be done quickly. You had to make sure everything was done in order and very quickly, so I find that I’m still doing things quickly and when I’m sitting down to do my artwork, I find that I’m colouring in quickly. So now, I’ve been watching on the YouTube and they don’t do that, they take time and they get to know the picture that they’re colouring in and they just get to relax and this is what I’m going to do now. I don’t have to just – colour it in – I can enjoy it and I can shade it and blend it and there’s all sorts of things you can do.
So this is now getting me to slow down and not having to do everything immediately.
Thank you,
Bye bye.
