A simple flower has triggered some wonderful memories for Gail
Hi, it’s Gail.
Today is getting a little easier.
I can feel my head easing slightly and the pain is also subsiding. My head doesn’t feel as heavy – still a little confused and the lingering with the foggy fuzz. I have missed lots of my Zoom meetings and not sure if I have contacted everyone to cancel. Getting muddled again in the inbox of emails!
Most of my days have been spent in the garden, away from the computers at the moment and I have grown some flowers from seed, but today I can’t remember their name. They are flowering very bright coloured orange and they make me smile, as the orange, daisy-like flowers reminds me of my Grandma and Grandad Brown’s. I can picture their house and garden so clearly and it must be forty-five years since I stood in that garden.
Funny what memories we have, that lie in the bottomless pits of our memory bank. Suddenly the memories come flooding back, just a simple flower to trigger the happiness of Grandma and Grandad’s – the flowers in their garden, the sound of the latch of the back door and the smells of the baking as you open the back door and enter the house. I can smell that freshly-baked Parkin as I speak now. Such wonderful memories.
Bye! Have a lovely day.
