Steve has written a great poem about lockdown, which he reads here.

A few months ago when it was ever so hot

I sat in my garden and thought quite a lot

I thought about things that came into my mind

and realised that people were ever so kind

This troublesome time is a worry I know

were stuck in our house with nowhere to go

We dont talk to anyone except on the phone

yet some people are home all on their own

that must be scary to be on your own

no one to talk to not even the phone

some folks have no friends or anyone at all

who cares for them should they suddenly fall

my thoughts went wild as I rocked in my chair

the sun beating down and bleaching my hair

were six months into this stark new way

not going out day after day

Im scared to go out because of the news

it tells us how this virus has spread and they give us their views

weve got to belive what we are told

I hope it just ends before I get old

I smile to myself as I wrote that last line

Im seventy four and still drink the wine

the days seem to drag as I rock in my chair

my hair getting longer but its ever so fair

My mind still wanders as I think about things

whats going to happen what will life bring

everything will change of that Im quite sure

will the boffins ever find a cure
