Steve talks about more strange encounters in Stockport and bubble wrap is also involved
LIVING IN A BUBBLE?
I was in a café in Stockport last week, Margaret had popped over the road to Hobby Craft to get some bits for her craft hobby, but I suspect she would head straight for the bubble wrap aisle.
Anyway I was sipping my coffee when an elderly lady sat at the table adjacent to me lent forward and said what is that blue band on your wrist.
I was wearing an Alzheimer’s wrist band and I told her I had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s four years ago.
‘Oh I am sorry’ she said.
I continued sipping my coffee.
The lady turned and moved her chair closer to where I was sat, and she then said, ‘I’ve invented a cure for Alzheimer’s ‘
I looked at her intrigued by what she was about to say.
She continued and said, ‘if you get half an aubergine and an avocado chop them up and put them in a blender with a bit of olive oil and blitz them for a few minutes until you get a paste.’
‘What do you spread that on,’ I said
‘Don’t be silly’ she interrupted, ‘you rub it all over your head’
I smiled at this point and said ‘how often do you do this’
‘Oh every day’ she replied.
It was then I noticed bits of green in her hair.
Just then the door opened and Margaret came in carrying a Hobby craft shopping bag she had a roll of something under her arm.
The elderly lady then said, ‘what’s that blue band on you wrist?’
Margaret said, ‘I’ve been popping some bubbles’
The old lady said, ‘I live in a bubble’
I said, ‘you and me both love’
Margaret and I left the café, ‘you had a nice time?’
I said,’ I can’t remember.’
